What it does
- Suggests headline options, which a person chooses between or rejects.
- Points out passages that are vague, padded or that dodge taking a side.
- Finds repetition and the tired phrases that make writing sound machine-made.
- Drafts search and social copy, which a person edits.
- Scores a draft against our own house rules, as an internal check.
- Makes the photographs. Every image on this site is generated, not a stock photo and not a picture of anyone real. We keep the prompt for each one, and none of them depicts an identifiable person.
What it does not do
- It cannot publish. It has no access to an article’s status at all.
- It does not decide what we cover.
- It does not invent stories, quotes, statistics or sources.
- It does not make images of real people, and it never makes an image that is presented as documentary — a photograph of an event that happened.
Why we tell you this
Because the internet is filling up with articles nobody wrote and nobody read. If we use a tool, you should know which tool and where. A person is responsible for every word on this site, and that person is reachable.
